Your hosts will ensure a great introduction to the team building challenge followed by a series of clever immunity and reward challenges that are hand picked to mirror your chosen issues and themes whether fun or strategic in nature.
Plenty of twists and turns culminate in a tribal council aimed at selecting a winner based not only upon team performance, but equally importantly, how they have played the game.

Possible format of event
The Hosts introduce the challenge: The group is seated for a fairly standard conference session when suddenly the Survivor hosts burst into the room to issue the group the Survivor challenge.
Once the challenge has been issued the Survivor guides meet the group and randomly divide them into tribes of approximately 10 participants.
Each team must firstly undertake a selection challenge to determine whether they have the ‘right stuff’ to be a survivor team. They will then be issued with their Survivor Pack.
Tribal image and unity
Successful completion of the initial challenge will yield the team their Tribal Pack. The team has now become a survivor tribe. Throughout the course of the event each tribe will need to create from the materials provided (including bandanas, flags and artistic materials) their very own tribal image complete with tribal songs and dances to accompany their efforts to take out the most points and become the ultimate survivor tribe. This can incorporate the values of creativity and innovation as well as people development.
All teams are now ready to undertake the Survivor Reward and Immunity challenges.
The Reward Challenges
Team development tasks and challenges may yield the team rewards, vital equipment and points. These challenges are selected according to your needs and the nature of the venue the event is to be delivered within. Whether land or water based (or even indoors at a dinner) these challenges will ensure maximum impact and interaction in accordance with the outcomes you want to achieve.
Immunity Challenges
Having had a chance to develop and hone their team skills, tribes will intermittently take on a number of immunity challenges.
These are competitive challenges that teams must compete to ensure their survival. Points earned in these challenges will assist the tribe in remaining at the top of the point scoring table and ensure their continued participation in the game. The lowest scoring tribes may be merged into the remaining tribes at some point in the game.
Tribal Council
After gaining points and kudos from the reward and immunity challenges the tribes must face the tribal council to determine who will be the ultimate tribal team. The Ultimate Survivor Tribe can be determined by totaling all reward and immunity points over the duration of the event. Or depending on the size of the group and time available an actual vote can be conducted.
Each tribe will need to plan carefully how they vote based upon how they have behaved not only as a team themselves, but how they have interacted with other teams as well. You see, each tribe will need to vote for the team other than themselves that they think should win. This will be weighed in addition to task performance to determine final winner.
Alternative ending / extension for events over 3 hours
These options can be worked into your program and require between 1.5 to 2 hours. Timings and prices available on request.
Kon Tiki (Boat Building and races reveal the Ultimate Tribe)
Tribes must now embark on their final challenge – the Kon Tiki challenge. Previous points will gives tribes an advantage (or disadvantage) in this final challenge. The tribe with the winning boat will be named the Ultimate Survivor Tribe.
Potential Key Learning Points / Outcomes from a Survivor Team Building Challenge
Team Roles and Diversity
Survivor only mirrors the reality TV genre to the extent of it’s theme, but otherwise is a genuine team based challenge that does not require the nasty “vote-off” scenarios. A myriad of different challenge styles are included that require different types of team role contribution are essential for a balanced and profitable approach to the challenge. Team members will find it essential that different team role styles come forward at the right times to deal with different aspects of the challenge. Leading, Thinking, Doing, Supporting and Challenging roles are needed at different times. Models such as Belbin, Myers Briggs or DISC are well re-enforced here.
Improve Execution
The winning approach to the challenge will require not only the great plans and systems that teams will devise, but they must be followed through into effective and timely execution if the ideas and approaches are to be converted into real and workable outcomes. Good teams will follow a model such as Plan – Brief – Execute and De-Brief throughout.
Fun and Motivation
Survivor is a high energy, high interaction and high fun challenge. Teams have a great deal of fun, and motivate one another a great deal towards completion within the timeframes permitted.
Communication
Internal and external communication will be essential as teams need to interpret and then effectively communicate information that is critical to making sure the diverse elements of the project come together in the right way for the desired end result. Failure to communicate effectively will result in confusion and bad execution.
Networking
Within teams there is a high degree of networking as people work closely together to get the project done. Networking between teams can also be facilitated if we design the activity to require co-operation between teams for common objectives or shared outcomes.
